However,theliteraturehasnotthoroughlyexaminedthemultiplerelationshipsamongsupplychain
(SC) strategy,corporateenvironmental(CE)strategy,andfirmperformance.Assuch,thispaper,adopts
an alignmentperspectivetoempiricallyexaminethecomplexlinksbetweenfourSCstrategiesandfour
CE strategieson172manufacturingfirmsinTaiwan.Usingprofiledeviationanalysis,itisfoundthat
overallanSCstrategywhenproperlyalignedwithaCEstrategyleadstoimprovedfirmperformance.
Specifically,arisk-hedgingSCstrategyshouldbealignedwithadefensiveCEstrategytoyieldimproved
firm performance.Likewise,aresponsiveSCstrategyshouldbealignedwithanaccommodativeCE
strategy,andanagileSCstrategywithaproactiveCEstrategy.
